Based on the problems raised by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the World Climate Summit on December 20 at 11:35, a seminar was held in auditorium 108 for students in grades 9-11 on the topic: “Ecology and proper waste sorting” by project manager of the GREENUP Foundation, ecologist Zhanabil Zhandar was held.
Goal: to form and expand students’ knowledge about environmental protection, teach proper waste sorting, and provide environmental information.
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that at the World Climate Summit within the framework of the Dubai UN Climate Change Conference, Kazakhstan supports the UN call for taking concrete measures aimed at preserving the environment for future generations, and is also the first country in the region to ratify the Paris Agreement agreement, and adopted a strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. According to our president, the new Environmental Code of Kazakhstan will promote the widespread use of “green” technologies in every sector of our national economy.
