23 november, 2023

Extremism and terrorism have swept the whole world. This problem, despite the fact that it began to gain momentum in the new century, has already been marked by bloodshed in some countries of the world. Therefore, in order to prevent this religious split in the Republic of Kazakhstan, a State program on countering religious extremism and terrorism has been created.

On 11/23/2023 teachers of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology Iskakova R. A., Smagulova N. T. and doctoral student B. Kenzheev held a discussion "Why do terrorist attacks occur?" according to SDG 16 "Peace, justice and effective institutions".

During the event, students expressed their opinions on the following issues:

- the spread of religious sects;

- infiltration of illegal sects using our open diplomatic policy;

- young people aged 18 to 30 years, who have not formed any religious, political, public opinion, imperfect moral, patriotic feelings;

- not only men, but also women are engaged in terrorist activities. Currently, there is an increase in the number of female suicide bombers.
