On January 9, 2024, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of History, Department of History of Kazakhstan held an international scientific and practical conference on the topic: “Current problems of the medieval history of Kazakhstan in the XIII-XVIII centuries”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Bereket Bakytzhanovich Karibaev.
During the conference, the latest research related to current issues in the history of Kazakhstan of the 13th-18th centuries was discussed.
The conference was attended by leading domestic scientists and government officials - academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor M.K. Koigeldiev, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor R.B. Absattarov, Minister of Fisheries of the Kazakh SSR in 1981-1991, statesman and public figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Sarzhanov, Director of the Abay Institute of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Zh. Dadebaev, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after R. Suleimenov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor D. Masimkhanuly, as well as historians, sociologists, representatives of state and public organizations, and higher educational institutions.
