Republic Day of India celebration was held in Almaty
On January 28, 2024, a festive event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Republic of India was held in Almaty within the framework of the Partnership for Sustainable Development on the program of the Sustainable Development Goals. Teachers of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Department of Indology were specially invited to participate in the event by the Consul General of the Republic of India in Almaty, Mr. Suapnil Hotawade. The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dr. Nagendra Prasad, and the Deputy Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Mr. Islambek Raimov. The celebrations began with a speech by His Excellency Mr. Nagendra Prasad, who gave the presentation on recent achievements of India as a whole and the pace of India-Kazakhstan relations, followed by a traditional festive program featuring Indian music and dance.
