Traveling exhibition "The Great Silk Road and urban culture of the Otyrar Valley" at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University
On January 26, 2024, the Faculty of History of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Otyrar State Archaeological Museum-Reserve organized a traveling exhibition "The Great Silk Road and Urban Culture of the Otyrar Valley" as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the university.
The purpose of the exhibition: popularization of the ethnographic and spiritual, cultural heritage of our people with a deep history for the educated, nationalist, conscious youth of the country; Information from the Otyrar Museum, the only institution that monitors the preservation of monuments through restoration and conservation, studying incredibly valuable archaeological artifacts telling about the history of the ancient city of Otyrar, where our the great thinker Abu Nasir al-Farabi.
The opening ceremony was attended by a member of the Board of KazNU-Vice-rector for Scientific and innovative activities Aitzhanova Zh.N., director of the State Archaeological Museum-Reserve "Otyrar" Zhandosov A.K., Dean of the Faculty of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Baigunakov D.S., Farabi scholar, Doctor of Ph.D., Professor Zh.A. Altaev, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science B.B. Meirbaev, Director of the Institute of Archelogy and Anthropology, Candidate of Historical Sciences, G.Omarov, Deputy Director of the Department for Social Development and Youth Work E.O. Aituarov, Head of the Museum A. Zhumekeyevna, as well as well-known scientists and specialists of the Al-Farabi Center, were attended by the staff of the University museum, the teaching staff and students, undergraduates of the Faculty of History.
The exhibition presents archaeological artifacts from the collection of the Otrar Museum -Reserve fund - ceramic products, numismatic materials, glass objects, rare artifacts, aerial photographs and maps related to monuments. You can visit the exhibition "The Great Silk Road and the urban culture of the OTYRAR Valley" of the State Archaeological Museum - Reserve "OTYRAR" in the kaznu museum for almost 1 month.
