"Legal measures of social support for disabled children under 18 and their parents"

On February 5, 2024 at 12:00 in auditorium 310, the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure, Labor Law held a scientific seminar on the topic "Legal measures of social support for disabled children under 18 years and their parents" as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. He presented an analysis of legal measures of social support for disabled children up to 18 years of age and their parents, explained the general principles of protecting the rights of disabled people, identified the main problems of social protection and gave practical recommendations on the Convention on the Rights of Disabled People. The main issues raised at the seminar include several aspects:
1 States Parties shall take all necessary measures to ensure that disabled children fully enjoy all human rights and fundamental freedoms on an equal basis with other children.
2 Child disability remains one of the most urgent problems in Kazakhstan. Protection of the rights of children with disabilities is approved by the legislation of Kazakhstan in the field of social protection of disabled people and protection of the rights of children. In the reporting period, Kazakhstan continues to take active measures to improve the system of protection of the rights of children with disabilities.
