International Book Donation Day

International Book Donation Day
Let's give each other peace by giving each other books!

The purpose of the event is to increase the influence of books, instill a love of reading, and form mutual respect.
The International Book Donation Day has been celebrated annually on February 14 since 2012. The goal is to enhance the power of the book and instill a love of reading. The initiative of this international holiday belongs to Emmy Broadmoor, a mother of three children, the founder of the American website "children's book". One day, a mother's question about "why there is no day when people give books to each other" caused the appearance of this holiday. Emmy Broadmoor contacted familiar bloggers, social media users, colleagues and partners on the site through her communication channels and began on February 14 with a gift of a book.
Faculty of History of the Kazakh National University named afterAl-Farabi also contributed to this holiday, which is celebrated in more than 30 countries around the world. The event was attended by the faculty, staff, students, undergraduates and doctoral students of our faculty.
The book-giving holiday gave the participants an unforgettable experience and a sense of special joy. The book is our spiritual value, our unsurpassed wealth.
We hope that this action will become a tradition at our university!
