The XI winter school of journalism started in KazNU

The XI Winter School of Journalism and Communication "Artificial Intelligence in Radio Broadcasting: New Formats and Practice" dedicated to the World Radio Daystarted in Al-Farabi KazNU.

The organizers of the large-scale event were: the Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development with the support of the UN Information Office in Kazakhstan - representative office of the UN Department of Global Communications and the UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office. the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of the Information Office Vlastimil Samek congratulated the participants on the significant event. "On February 13, 2011, UNESCO member countries declared World Radio Day. In 2012, this idea was approved by the UN General Assembly. This year we jointly with Al-Farabi KazNU organize another event. The theme of the XI Winter School is very relevant. Artificial intelligence is the science of the future. Currently, some areas of journalism have been replaced by artificial intelligence. And this is a trend of the time, but real professionals will always be in demand".

Master classes on topical issues were presented by well-known journalists and industry experts: Master of Social Sciences, PhD student of KazNU, data-journalist Olzhas Abdikhalik - "Practice of Big-Data application in Kazakhstan journalism", trainer on voice production and public speaking "Minsiz" Studio, producer and music editor of radio "Toi Duman" Zhandos Esenaliev and others. The three-day winter school will include various events, meetings, seminars and round tables in such locations as Tau-Turan Educational and Recreational Complex, Ile-Alatau State National Park, Belbulak Gorge and others.

It should be noted that this event is implemented within the framework of the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDGs), including the goals of quality education and gender equality.
