Current problems of international relations in new geopolitical realities discussed

The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an international scientific-practical conference "Actual problems of international relations in the new geopolitical realities", dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the famous scientist, founder of the specialty "International Relations" in Kazakhstan, Professor Zharas Ibrashev.

In honor of the significant date at the Faculty of International Relations the Zharas Ibrashev Auditorium was renewed and reopened.

The purpose of the event is to discuss modern problems of international relations and foreign policy of Kazakhstan, world economy, issues of diplomatic translation.

Deputy Akim of Almaty city Arman Kyrykbayev, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign and Kazakh researchers, members of the academic and expert community took part in the international scientific-practical conference.

At the conference, Deputy Akim of Almaty city Arman Kyrykbayev read out a congratulatory letter from the State Counselor of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Karin. The letter said: "Zharas Omarovich deeply studied the theory of international relations and made a great contribution to the development of this field. He devoted his conscious life to improving the education system in the country and wrote fundamental works. On his initiative for the first time in Kazakhstan the chair of international relations was opened. For more than half a century he held an honorable position in Al-Farabi KazNU and was highly respected by his colleagues. I hope that the rich heritage of the scientist will continue to be the heritage of the country".

In turn, Zhanseit Tuimebaev emphasized that due to the hard work and research of Zharas Omarovich a large school of qualified diplomats was formed.

"Ibrashev Zharas is a graduate of our university. He is the author of more than 100 scientific research articles, 5 monographs. Under his scientific guidance such famous diplomats and statesmen as President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, Askar Musinov and others defended their theses. The scientist prepared 35 candidates and 10 doctors of sciences. As a French scholar Ibrash Omaruly headed the scientific school of researchers of European and Eurasian problems", - said the rector of the university.

During the conference, the participants presented their articles, where they talked about the relevance and results of scientific research, their practical significance.

Based on the reports and speeches of the participants of the international conference, it is planned to publish a collection of articles.
