It is necessary to create an image of young scientists for the development of science

A meeting of young leaders of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in the Al-Farabi Library.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, President of the National Academy of Sciences Akylbek Kurishbaev, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev, members of the National Kurultai and the National Council on Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, chairmen of councils of young scientists of universities and research institutes of the country.

During the meeting, the leading young scientists shared their ideas on the development of the scientific ecosystem and priority areas of scientific research, as well as voiced proposals to increase the role of young scientists in science and on measures of their social support.

Opening the event, President of the National Academy of Sciences Akylbek Kurishbaev addressed the young leaders of science.

"The main task of the National Academy of Sciences is to become a center of attraction for talented young people who are able and willing to make an intellectual contribution to the development of the country's economy. This will become one of the main directions of its activity. Your opinion is important for us in the development and improvement of the National Academy of Sciences. We would like to discuss all existing issues together with you today. Personally, as the head of the Academy, I would like young scientists not only to make their proposals, but also to directly participate in solving existing problems in the scientific sphere," Akylbek Kurishbayev said.

Concluding his speech, the President of the National Academy of Sciences announced the establishment of the Council of Young Scientists for the first time under NAS RK. The SMU will become an authoritative organization uniting young scientists of the country and having all necessary powers for its activity. It should be noted that for the first time in the field of scientific administration to protect the rights of young scientists officially introduced the position of ombudsman, a member of the Presidium of the Council of Young Scientists on which the mission to further promote and strengthen the status of young scientists.

During the meeting, the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, who noted that the role of scientists in universities is growing every day. The Minister also emphasized that today the number of scientists in the country exceeds 22 thousand people.

Welcoming the guests in the walls of the leading university of the country Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted that in KazNU systematic work is carried out to create conditions and increase opportunities for young scientists.

"Today the university employs more than 300 young researchers under the age of 40 years. Many have undergone scientific training in leading universities and educational centers of the world. In KazNU the Council of young scientists successfully conducts its activities. In accordance with the status of a research university, Al-Farabi KazNU now pays special attention to the development of science. Revenues from university science for the last three years have doubled and amounted to 8.5 billion tenge", - said Zhanseit Tuimebayev.

Also during the meeting, scientists spoke, who voiced a number of proposals aimed at the development of science.
