Educational importance of musical culture development
On February 22, 2024, a round table was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh national university on «Educational importance of musical culture development» within the framework of the 4th goal of the Sustainable Development Concept “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education”. The keynote speaker of the round table was Kurmangaliev Tileules Kuralbayuly, the “Excellence in Culture” of the Republic of Kazakhstan, senior teacher of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy, singer. Students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, specializing in religious studies and cultural studies took an active part in discussions during the round table.
During the round table, the importance of developing a musical culture to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education was emphasized, and the educational value of developing a musical culture was discussed in detail.
It is known that the entire spiritual well-being of our people until 20th century was formed without any written records and was passed on from mouth to mouth, from past to future through the use of national instruments, that is, through music. There is an expression among Kazakh people: “The dombyra speaks, the kobyz conveys, the whistle expresses...”. That is why there is no doubt that our musical heritage can tell and give us a lot.
As Magzhan Zhumabaev said: “When you teach, it is necessary to move from distant to close, from familiar to foreign, and connect new knowledge with old...”, and only then education will be inclusive and quality, and knowledge deep.
