Ninomiya Takashi, foreign professor of the Department of the Far East, gave a lecture to the students of the Faculty of International Relations

The following roundtable was held on February 27, 2024 at the Faculty of International Relations, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: “Formation of English and French language teaching competencies based on national values using modern technologies” organized by Department of Diplomatic Translation, Faculty of International Relations, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. This roundtable was held within the framework of the MSHE RK AR 14869709 project “Peculiarities of teaching foreign languages based on national values.” Axmet Toqtabay (ethnologist, professor of Ghylym ordasy) gave the lecture “Study and importance of national values,” Seidikenova Almash (Head Department of diplomatic translation, KazNU) gave the lecture “Influence of national values on intercultural communication.” From the faculty of Oriental Studies, Ninomiya Takashi gave a lecture on “Old and new traditions in Japan.” In his presentation, he cited Tea ceremony, Kabuki, and Maiko as old traditions, and cited Manga, Anime, and masks as new traditions. He explained that Maiko is in danger of disappearing socially, but that Kabuki could continue using the soft power of Anime.
