In KazNU discussed the issues of environmental law enforcement

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an international scientific-practical conference "Improving the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of environmental law enforcement", timed to the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The event was attended by leading scientists of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, representatives of state bodies of Kazakhstan, international and national experts, representatives of civil society, human rights organizations, teachers and students of universities.
The participants of the conference were welcomed by a member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Law, Professor Lyazzat Erkinbaeva. Emphasizing the relevance of the topic of the event, she made a report on "Problems of protection and rational use of pasture ecosystems in the Republic of Kazakhstan".

Highlighting the state of pasture resources, she noted that the republic has a huge potential of pasture lands, but there are problems due to global climate change, illiterate farming, which lead to increased droughts, desertification and other negative consequences. Further, the speaker elaborated on the measures that are being taken in the legislative field to improve the situation, in particular, emphasized the timeliness of the adoption of the Law "On Pastures", which "introduced many innovations and consolidated the principles of legislation in the use of pasture resources".

Sergey Bogolyubov, Doctor of Law, Professor at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, presented a report on "The Climate Element of Law and Order" to the attention of the conference participants. "The realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at building a peaceful, open and democratic space implies the protection and maintenance of common historical reference points, respect for law and other spiritual and moral values that have found their unique, original manifestation in the cultural development of the Eurasian continent," Bogolyubov noted.

At the meeting also spoke: Doctor of Law, Professor Saule Suleimenova, chairman of the fund "Semey Nuclear Test Site", public association "Society of Disabled People of Astana" Bolatbek Abdikarim, chief specialist of the Institute of Parliamentarism at the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Saule Nurzhan, judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Beibut Shermukhambetov and others.

The participants discussed the issues of improving themanagement of environmental law and order, regulation of nature use and environmental protection, legal regime of ecosystems and principles of rational use of their natural resources, etc.

The conference was organized by the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of the Faculty of Law.
The materials of the conference will be published in an electronic collection of materials with the assignment of an international standard number (ISBN).
