KazNU discussed the results of the winter session
The Academic Council of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University discussed the results of the winter examination session and the creation of an interdisciplinary scientific journal "Perspectives of Neuroscience".
Lyazzat Erkinbaeva, Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, told about the results of the winter examination session in 2023/24 academic year.
23,286 students were admitted to the winter examination session. The exams were taken in online, offline and mixed forms using Univer, StartExam and Moodle platforms. The absolute success rate for bachelor's degree was 87%, for master's degree - 91%, and for doctoral degree - 95%. At the end of the speaker's speech, a draft resolution was submitted to the Academic Council, which, in particular, instructed the academic committees on the quality of teaching and learning to analyze the examination tasks, discovered cases of students' use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the quality of examination tasks, as well as to prepare orders on the appointment of scholarships for students, interns, masters and doctoral students PhD, successfully passed the winter examination session, etc. In addition, the Department of Academic Affairs needs to train faculty members on the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process, as well as to develop a regulation on the use of AI resources in the educational process.
The meeting also heard and discussed the speeches of: Yerkin Duisenov, member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Operations, on the current situation at the university, and Almira Kustubaeva, Head of the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience, on the creation of an interdisciplinary scientific journal "Prospects of Neuroscience".
