A conference on environmental policy of Kazakhstan was held in KazNU

Al-Farabi KazNU hosted an international scientific-practical conference "State Environmental Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the transition to sustainable development", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Doctor of Law, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Zhumageldy Sakenovich Yelyubaev and the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi KazNU.

The event was attended by famous scientists, government and public figures, representatives of the management and faculty and students of Al-Farabi KazNU.

Member of the Board - Vice-Rector Lyazzat Erkinbaeva addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Congratulating Zhumageldy Sakenovich Yelubayev on the remarkable date, she noted the merits of Doctor of Law, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, who devoted his professional life to serving the Motherland and Kazakh society, the establishment of law and order in the country.

Mr. Zhumageldy Sakenovich started his professional career in the Almaty City Bar. He headed the Presidium of the Almaty City Bar Association, which was facilitated by academic knowledge obtained at the Law Faculty of the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov, professional skills, high intelligence and independent character. He was actively engaged in public work as a head of public reception room on legal issues of Kazakh television, was a lecturer of Almaty city organization "Znanie", a teacher of advanced training courses for justice workers. Zhumageldy Sakenovich devotedmost of his professional career to judicial activity, he rose from a judge of a district court in Almaty to a judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The plenary session was also addressed by: Dean of the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi KazNU, Doctor of Law, Professor Daulet Baideldinov, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Head of the Department of Environmental and Agrarian Legislation of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow, Russia), Professor Sergey Bogolyubov, Head of the Department of Environmental and Agrarian Law of the Belarusian State University, Doctor of Law, Professor Tamara Makaro, and others.

The participants presented reports on topical issues of environmental policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the transition to sustainable development, discussed the speeches and exchanged views. The presentation of the movie about Zhumageldy Sakenovich Elyubayev "Right and Time" took place within the framework of the event.
