On February 23, 2024. the Farabi reading club organized a meeting with Argynbek Kunanbayuly, an editor-translator and the lecturer of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The meeting was dedicated to the continuity of language and knowledge, the influence of reading and writing on the brain, stylistics, and writing etiquette. The speaker also mentioned about the enormous work of the Alash intelligentsia in publishing and writing books and textbooks, and the role of the generous rich people of the Kazakh steppe who made a great contribution to the development of enlightened and intellectual community of our country. The students from Afghanistan and the students who like to read books came to the lecture. The lecturer emphasized in his speech the influence of reading books on the development of intelligence, overcoming empathy and achieving success in the field of scientific research. He recited a few wisdom words by Abay, as well as other wise statements that the writers Berdybek Sokpakbayev and Rakhimzhan Otarbay used to reveal the personality of their main characters. The speaker ended his lecture by recommending the books of Mortimer Adler and Marianne Wolf to conduct successful research. At the end of the lecture, the students also showed activity, recommending a list of books that, in their opinion, could also help in researching a scientific problem.
