KazNU discussed legal directions of SDGs
The Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi KazNU held an event on "Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions" within the framework of the implementation of SDG-16 (UN).
The meeting was attended by university faculty and young people.
The purpose of the event is to draw attention to the SDGs and educate a new generation of leaders ready to take on the challenges of the modern world and striving for sustainable development of our planet.
Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev in his speech at the UN Summit on Sustainable Development Goals noted that "the principles of sustainable development have become the basis of our national strategies and programs. Today we are actively investing in a sustainable future".
The event was opened by Karlygash Useinova, Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Faculty of Law, Al-Farabi KazNU, who noted the special role of legal knowledge and experience in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Ms. Zhansaya Sakenovna Isaeva, Director of the Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development, shared her thoughts on the importance of developing legal institutions for achieving global peace and justice.
Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law Nurpeisov Erkesh Kalievich Nurpeisov made a report on "Constitutionalism in Kazakhstan".
Speakers and participants had an interesting dialog, discussed legal aspects of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The discussion explained how students can realize the 16th Sustainable Development Goal (UN). Together with teachers and experts, they found ways to apply the concepts of constitutionalism in practice, aimed at creating a more just and stable society.
