A meeting of young leaders in science was held

A meeting of young leaders of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The meeting was attended by the minister of Science and higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, president of the National Academy of Sciences Akylbek Kurishbayev, Chairman of the Board-Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, members of the National meeting and the National Council for Science and technology under the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan, young scientists of universities and research institutes.

During the meeting, leading young scientists shared their ideas on the development of the scientific ecosystem and priority areas of scientific research. He also made proposals on increasing the role of young scientists in science and measures of their social support.

The event was opened by the president of the National Academy of Sciences Akylbek Kurishbayev. "The main task of the National Academy of Sciences is to become a center for attracting talented and young people who are able to contribute to the development of the country's economy. The opinion of young scientists is important for us in the further development and improvement of the Academy's activities. We will discuss all the problematic issues at today's meeting. As the head of the academy, I would like young scientists not only to present their proposals, but also to take a direct part in solving pressing problems in the scientific field," Akylbek Kurishbayev said.

In conclusion, the president of the academy noted that for the first time a council of young scientists was established under the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The council will become an authoritative organization that unites young scientists of the country and has all the necessary powers for its activities.

Minister of Science and higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek made a speech, noting that the role of scientists in universities is growing day by day. He noted that today the number of scientists in the country exceeds 22 thousand people.

In turn, the rector of Al-Farabi, welcoming the guests of Honor, noted that the university is carrying out systematic work to create conditions for young scientists and increase their opportunities.

"Today, more than 300 young scientists under the age of 40 work at Kaznu. Many have completed scientific internships at leading universities and centers around the world. The Council of young scientists is working effectively at the University. Since the assignment of Kaznu to the status of a research university, special attention has been paid to the development of university science. The income from university science has doubled over the past three years and amounted to 8.5 billion tenge," Zhanseit Tuimebayev said.

At the meeting, scientists spoke and made a number of proposals aimed at the development of science.
