Partnership with St. Petersburg University

Delegation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the scientific week dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is one of the leading universities in Russia. The institution, founded in 1899, today has more than 35 thousand students. More than 6 thousand of them come from abroad. More than 2000 professors teach the young students.
Rectors of universities, academicians, heads of research institutes were invited to the scientific week. Rector of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Andrei Rudskoy made a speech at the opening of the week and familiarized with the achievements of the university for 125 years.
During the visit the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Board-Rector of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebaev familiarized with the scientific infrastructure of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and the Graduate School of Business Engineering of the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade. At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of partnership in the field of science and technology.
At the meeting, the parties agreed to open a joint research center, as well as to hold joint scientific seminars to attract master's and doctoral students to scientific projects.
