Lecture at the mouth of the Sarysai River
In the last days of winter in order to observe glacial phenomena at the hydrological post below the mouth of the serum of the Malaya Almatinka River, located in Medeu tract, we held a lecture for students studying on specialty "Hydrologist" of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology on the topic of glacial phenomena occurring in rivers and their types in the field.
During the lecture students were given information about the peculiarities of the winter regime of rivers and classification of glacial phenomena depending on the types of rivers and their influence on the flow of rivers.
Interesting facts about observed glacial phenomena in rivers and their types, the impact of climate change on glacial regimes were voiced at the field session. Information was also provided on dangerous hydrological phenomena observed in rivers in winter.
In general, natural disasters caused by glacial phenomena have a negative impact on the population, nature, infrastructure. Therefore, we remind you that it is very important to monitor glacial phenomena on rivers during the winter period.
