On March 29, 2024 was held a round table "Quality Education: The image of a professional librarian at the stage of informatization" dedicated to the goals of sustainable development of Kazakhstan, organized by senior lecturers of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies, Candidate of Historical Sciences Asanova B.S., PhD Tuleshova U.Zh. and master's students, students of the 1st year of specialty "Library Information Systems".

On November 14, 2006 by the decree of the President of the RK the most important political document for the country was prepared. This is the Concept of the RK on transition to sustainable development in 2007-2024.

The RoK's transition to sustainable development will follow several steps: poverty eradication, hunger removal, good health and well-being, quality education, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth.

Purpose: Determining the increasing demand for the profession of professional librarian and the role of the library in shaping the modern image of the profession in the conditions of informatization and digitalization of society..

During the round table, the faculty of the department, the staff of the Chekhov Central City Library and students shared their opinions and had an active discussion about the demand for modern libraries and the model of modern service.
