Lecturers from the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management gave lectures to students from Japan

In accordance with the “Campus within a Campus” agreement, since 2019, bilateral relations in the field of education and science have been carried out between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the University of Tsukuba. 02/16/2024-03/23/2024, the Department of the Far East, as part of the winter school, conducts the course “Regional Studies. Politics, economics and culture of Central Asia" for students of the University of Tsukuba. This year, 13 students from the University of Tsukuba arrived in Kazakhstan. Japanese students completed a 5-week training with local teachers as part of the winter school program at the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Every year, the winter school program includes lectures on the language, politics, economics and culture of our country. In this regard, as part of the winter school program, teachers from different faculties of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the Faculty of Oriental Studies and gave lectures to Japanese students on various topics.

03/05/2024 teachers of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science: Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor Kylyshbaeva Bibigul Nauryzovna and Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Raikhan Beksultanovna Seisebaeva prepared and gave a lecture on the topic: “Perception of global and local identity by Kazakh youth.”

03/15/2024 Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Fatima Turarovna Kukeeva. Faculty of International Relations gave a lecture to students of the University of Tsukuba on the topic: “Geopolitics of Kazakhstan in the new reality.” Also, the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, PhD, Associate Professor Delovarova Leila Fedorovna gave a lecture on the topic: “Migration and sustainable development. Main aspects of migration policy".

In addition, a lecture on the ecology of Kazakhstan was given to foreign students by PhD, acting. Associate Professor of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management Kulakhmetova Gulbaram Amantaevna. Gulbaram Amantaevna spoke in detail about the natural resources and environmental heritage of our country, and also shared information about the current state of the environment in Kazakhstan.

These events took place as part of the winter school program for students at the University of Tsukuba and were timed to coincide with the exchange of cultural and scientific knowledge between the two countries, which in turn is one of the indicators of achieving SDG 4 “Quality Education” and SDG 17 “Partnerships for Sustainable Development " The lectures were held in a friendly atmosphere of discussion and active information exchange. Faculty teachers demonstrated their pre-prepared presentations and materials, provided international students with extensive information about their topics and answered their questions.
