On April 11, 2024, within the framework of SDG: Gender Equality the lecturer of Russian Philology and World Literature Department, A.N. Spanbek together with the 1st year students of “6B05203 – Hydrology” major held a brain-ring on the topic “A Bright Future without Gender Barriers”.
The brain ring was organized to discuss the issues of gender equality, identifying gender stereotypes and challenges facing society in achieving gender justice, as well as developing strategies to overcome them. During the brain ring, the main gender stereotypes existing in society were identified, such as prejudices about the roles of men and women in the family and society, as well as restrictions in education and the labor sphere. Various strategies and initiatives were also discussed to change cultural norms and stereotypes, involve men in the fight for gender equality and improve legislation and policies to protect the rights of women and girls. The discussion identified key gender stereotypes that permeate our culture and limit freedom and equal opportunities for men and women.
Brain Ring has proven to be an effective platform for discussing gender issues, identifying problems and developing strategies to overcome them. The participants actively participated in the discussion, expressing a variety of points of view and generating valuable recommendations for further action.
