The rector of KazNU took part in the forum "Universities and the future" in Russia.

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev took part in the international forum "Universities and the Future" in Russia and gave a report.

The international meeting, organized by the Lomonosov Moscow State University, brought together university rectors and experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Iran, Egypt, Indonesia and other countries.

The event was initiated by Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Russian Union of Rectors.

The main goal is to develop multilateral relations between higher education institutions of the participating countries, to expand the range of exchanges of teachers and students within the framework of the academic mobility program, to conduct joint work in the scientific direction.

Viktor Sadovnichy, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, opened the plenary session with a welcoming speech and thanked more than 100 university rectors who had come specially to take part in the forum. In his speech, the head of the Russian university emphasized that MSU is always ready to strengthen cooperation with foreign universities. Victor Sadovnichy also noted that the work of the International Forum is aimed at deepening international relations in education and science.

The rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebaev, delivered a report at the international event, noting that universities play an important role in shaping the future and solving global problems and challenges of our time.

"Science, education and new technologies are the key factors determining the competitiveness of countries in the global arena. In this context, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as one of the oldest and leading universities of the country, today works on development of scientific potential and improvement of educational programs. The university has set a high bar for itself - to become a world-class research university and achieve international competitiveness in the field of science and education among the top universities of the world.

KazNU currently has links with more than 650 universities from 54 countries. It is also a member of many major international associations and consortia", - said the rector.

At the end of his report Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted that the work of today's forum will expand the horizons of cooperation in the field of education, science and innovation.

Rectors-participants of the International Forum "Universities and the Future", who noted the importance of the event, also made speeches. The heads of universities shared information about their universities and familiarized themselves with the scientific infrastructure.

At the end of the event, the rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev and the rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities Alexander Bezborodov signed a cooperation agreement.

The plenary session continued in sections devoted to various topics.

It is recalled that the rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev will take part in the meeting of ministers of education of the SCO member states, which will be held in Russia on April 18.
