23.04. 2024, on the International Day of Books and Copyright, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Faculty of Law Mynbatyrova N.K. and members of the student club “History of State and Law” organized a reading discussion on George Orwell’s novel “1984”. The event was attended by teachers of the department, as well as 3rd year students. Students shared their thoughts on the reasons why the work has not lost its relevance in the modern period, despite the fact that it was written in the dystopian genre in the mid-twentieth century. Teachers of the department actively participated in the discussion. During the event, a quiz was held on the content of the novel. At the end of the discussion, students who actively participated in the discussion and answered the questions correctly were awarded prizes - the works of Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan S.S. Sartaev.
