KazNU hosted an Olympiad for Future Economists

The II stage of the XVI Republican Olympiad of Students was held in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The Olympiad, organized by the Higher School of Economics and Business, was held in such disciplines as economic theory, microeconomics, macroeconomics and business economics.

The opening ceremony was attended by teachers, students of the university and Olympiad leaders from 16 universities of the country.

The event was opened by Leila Bimendieva, Dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business, who wished all the participants good luck.

"The main goals of the Olympiad - the development of professional skills of students, improving their educational level in the field of economics, identification and support of talented students, formation of human resource potential of the country, development of networking between stakeholders in the implementation of the educational program "Economics". Today the event is held within the framework of the 90th anniversary of KazNU and the 75th anniversary of the Higher School of Economics and Business", - said the dean.

The Republican Olympiad was attended by 42 students from 16 universities of the country.

"This Olympiad consisted of two stages. The first one was held in the online format. The participants wrote essays and were selected for the next stage. As a result, 16 teams passed to the ²² stage. Today in KazNU participants solved applied problems on disciplines and answered test questions", - said the head of the Department of Economics Galiya Daulieva.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the winners were awarded diplomas and special prizes.
