KazNU considered the issues of constitutional-legal science
The Farabi Library hosted an international scientific-practical conference on "Development of constitutional-legal science of Kazakhstan: history, problems, prospects".
The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founder and head of the Department of Constitutional Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Konstantin Kotov, the 100th anniversary of the head of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Vladimir Kim and the 90th anniversary of the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, the first chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Baimakhanov.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss the problems of the history of formation and development of theoretical-legal and constitutional-legal science of Kazakhstan, the prospects for the development of constitutional construction in the country.
The meeting was attended by leading scientists, representatives of state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, civil society, teachers, doctoral students, master's students, students and media representatives.
Yerkin Duisenov, member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Operations of KazNU, opened the conference. In his speech he dwelt on the life activities of three outstanding personalities who contributed to the development of constitutional law of the country.
"Professor Konstantin Kotov was a major scientist-statesman, who can rightfully be called one of the founders of Kazakhstan constitutional-legal science. His works are relevant today, his ideas are modern and serve as a basis for further scientific research of scientists. Vladimir Aleksandrovich Kim is an outstanding scientist and talented researcher. He has written and published more than 100 scientific works. A number of works of Vladimir Alexandrovich were devoted to the activity of local councils. And Murat Tadjimuratuly is known as an outstanding state and public figure, politician, lawyer of the highest qualification, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Kazakhstan's legal system and national legislation. Profound knowledge and rich practical experience, which Murat Tadjimuratuly possessed by the time of our country's independence, found effective application in reforming the legal system of sovereign Kazakhstan", - said the Vice-Rector.
During the conference were discussed the issues of training of personnel for the state apparatus in the works of Professor K.F.Kotov, problems and prospects of development of constitutional-legal legislation in the works of Professor V.A.Kim, as well as the issues of development and strengthening of the rule of law in the works of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.T.Baimakhanov.
In addition, the participants considered the issues of improving the constitutional-legal mechanism of legislation of sovereign Kazakhstan and protection of rights and freedoms of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The conference was organized by the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law of Al-Farabi KazNU within the framework of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the higher educational institution.
