KazNU and Halyk Bank develop cooperation

In the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a meeting between the leadership of higher education institution and representatives of JSC "Halyk Bank".

During the meeting the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Yerkin Duisenov, Member of the Board of Directors - Vice-Rector for Operations, Irina Zakharchenko, Head of Human Resources Development Department of Halyk Bank, Asem Makashova, Director of Economics and Finance Department, Asel Makulbekova, Director of Marketing and PR Department of Halyk Bank, representatives of the university and the bank.

Welcoming the guests, Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Operations Yerkin Duisenov dwelled on the cooperation of KazNU with Halyk Bank.

"Halyk Bank JSC and Al-Farabi KazNU have a long experience of fruitful cooperation. In 2021, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data together with the Department of Transaction Systems and the Office of Chief Data Scientist of Halyk Bank developed a bachelor's degree program "Data Science". In 2023, enrollment for new master's and doctoral programs "Data Science" has been made. JSC "Halyk Bank" provides a wide range of opportunities for industrial and research practices, internships for students of bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. Representatives of the bank participate in the development and expertise of educational programs due to the maximum approximation of the educational process to the environment of solving actual problems of fintech sphere", - said the vice-rector.

In turn, Head of Personnel Development Department Irina Zakharchenko noted that Halyk Bank is always ready to contribute to the training of specialists in demand in the labor market.

During the meeting the issues of opening a joint laboratory, holding guest lectures and Halyk Bank Open Days for students were discussed.
