The project "Silver University" is organized in KazNU
The Silver University project was organized at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The aim of the project is to improve the qualifications of elderly citizens, to support those studying after 50 years, to improve the quality of life, to open new opportunities for self-development, and to set an example for young people.
"Silver University" - is an international movement that helps older people to get a second specialty. The training opens doors for citizens over 50 years old to learn a new profession.
This initiative was an important event that demonstrated interest and attention to the education and development of the older generation, opening new horizons for their active and rich life.
The conference, organized in a free format, was attended by representatives of the older generation, senior citizens, university administration and veteran teachers.
Yerkin Duisenov, Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Operations of KazNU, opened the event. "Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev pays great attention to the issues of social protection and economic well-being of senior citizens. Today in many countries officially works the program "Silver University". Now we have it here as well. This project assumes the continuity of education of elderly people, especially in conditions of economic crisis. Thanks to this project senior citizens can find their hobby, work that they want. For this KazNU has all the opportunities", - said the vice-rector.
Deputy Akim of Bostandyk district of Almaty Saken Aralbaev, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Bostandyk district Asem Bespaeva, Director of the Center for Active Longevity, candidate of political sciences Saule Beketayeva, head of the project "Center for Active Longevity" Kalimash Rakhimbaeva, philologist, owner of "Altyn alqa" Lyayle Daulet, professor, doctor of philological sciences Anar Salkynbai, who emphasized the importance of today's event.
At the event, participants improved their knowledge in various fields such as arts, culture, health and information technology. Comprehensive information on courses and educational resources available to older people was also provided. In addition, participants exchanged experiences and ideas with experts in various fields of knowledge and professional competencies.
During the conference Al-Farabi KazNU and the Active Longevity Center signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The event continued with a specially prepared concert program.
