Expanding Professional Horizons: Faculty Engagement with the Hospitality Industry at KITF 2024
On April 24, 2024, in a bid to strengthen ties with employers in the hospitality and tourism sectors, the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences actively participated in the 22nd Kazakhstan International Exhibition “Tourism and Travel” – KITF 2024. This event offered an excellent opportunity for exchanging experiences and establishing professional contacts with leading domestic and international companies from 28 countries.
The exhibition, held at the Atakent Exhibition Center, showcased the latest achievements in the tourism and hospitality industry, providing participants with the chance to explore the newest trends and innovations in the field. Participation in such large-scale events enables the faculty not only to maintain the relevance of its educational programs but also to build a foundation for the future employment of its students.
It is important to note that the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences is actively involved in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, which advocates for “Decent Work and Economic Growth.” This aspect closely aligns with the faculty's curriculum, which places a significant emphasis on developing skills and knowledge necessary to support environmental compatibility and economic efficiency in the tourism industry.
Such interactions with professionals and academic participation in international exhibitions like KITF 2024 significantly enrich the educational process, aiding in the preparation of skilled specialists capable of contributing to the development of the global tourism and hospitality industry.
