The lecturer of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, PhD K.M. Kozhabek, gave a guest lecture at 176 gymnasium schools within the framework of the 4th direction of the SDGs.Education lays the foundation for improving people's socio-economic living conditions and plays a key role in ensuring a way out of poverty. Over the past decade, significant progress has been made in expanding access to education and increasing school enrolment at all levels, in particular for girls. Despite this, in 2018, about 260 million children were still out of school, accounting for almost a fifth of the world's total population in this age group. In addition, more than half of all children and adolescents worldwide do not meet the minimum standards of knowledge in reading and mathematics. During the lecture, attention was paid to these issues, as well as the problems of secondary education in the country were described.
