MAIN PRIORITIES DESIGNATED

Under the chairmanship of the State Counselor of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Karin, a regular meeting of the National Commission of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO was held. The meeting was attended by heads of UNESCO departments, national committees under the commission, UNESCO centers and associated schools, representatives of the UNESCO regional office in Almaty and discussed current issues of cooperation with the world humanitarian organization.

In the first part of the meeting, the Chairman of the National Commission for UNESCO and ISESCO of the Republic of Kazakhstan, State Councilor E. Karin emphasized the importance of cooperation with UNESCO and noted priority areas. I instructed the authorized bodies to work on the issue of extending the validity of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and UNESCO on this Center.

Also in the first part of the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Omarov K., the head of the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty, Amir Pirich brought up for discussion issues on the preservation of objects on the territory of Kazakhstan included in the UNESCO list .

UNESCO Chairs in Kazakhstan are also involved in the implementation of priority tasks of national interest. The UNESCO Chair in Journalism and Communication participated in the development of the national platform. The baton for the implementation of the National Journalism Platform, developed on the basis of the department’s projects, was taken up by Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The main priorities outlined at the meeting of the National Commission will become the fundamental objectives of the department
