Memory and youth: how to preserve and pass on historical heritage to generations
On May 3, 2024 the adviser of the 1st year students of “Foreign Philology” major, Tairova G.A. together with the 1st year students of "Foreign Philology" major held an event on the topic: "Memory and youth: how to preserve and pass on historical heritage to generations" within the framework of SDG 16 "Peace, justice and strong institutions."
The aim of this event was to explain the importance of preserving and passing on historical heritage to younger generations and to discuss the practical ways to achieve this goal. The students came up with different points of view on the topic, analyzing how the holidays reflect the past, present and future of Kazakhstan. Various historical examples were given.
The participants expressed their thoughts about the role and the significance of the May 7 holiday in the modern society. The role of youth in preserving and handing down historical heritage through educational programs, events and active participation in public life was also discussed.
The achievements of the Kazakh army in protecting the interests of the country and peacekeeping activities were discussed. The event allowed students to understand the relationship between history, modernity and the future of the country through the analysis of significant holidays. At the end of the event, they talked about various concrete steps that can be taken to preserve and hand down historical heritage.
