In KazNU discussed the quality of admission of applicants

At the meeting of the Academic Council of Al-Farabi KazNU discussed the issues of ensuring quality admission of students to educational programs of the university.

The speaker was the head of the office for admission to training Aidar Zhumalipov. Akmaral Syrgakbaeva, Academic Secretary of the RUMS Academic Secretary, told about the status and prospects of the educational and methodological association on the basis of KazNU. 

This year the total number of graduates in the country amounted to 188,900 people.  The main national test will be held in two stages - from May 06 to 10 and from May 11 to 14. As the speaker noted, the terms of entrance exams to universities - from May 16 to July 5. The deadline for applications for the creative exam is set for the period from June 20 to July 7.

Master's students can send applications for studies to the Admissions Office from June 1 to July 15. For doctoral studies - from July 3 to August 3. Documents for the competition among students are accepted from July 13 to July 20. You can submit documents for the competition for master's degree from August 11 to 16, for doctoral studies - from August 21 to 23. Aidar Zhumalipov, head of the office for admission to training, told about the conducted career guidance work and noted the positive aspects. He also announced data on the first results of the UNT. Thus, in March, 117 thousand schoolchildren passed preliminary exams on UNT, of which 75 percent scored the threshold score, 69% - the average and 127% - violated the rules.

As UNT statistics shows, in March, 92% of schoolchildren showed good results in the creative exam. 9.6% of schoolchildren passed the tests in foreign language and world history, gaining 85% of the threshold score. 11.9% of pupils who passed the tests in mathematics-informatics got 81% of the threshold score. The speaker also informed about the planned values of contingent admission for the 2024/25 academic year for bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. The dynamics of change of threshold scores for admission to Al-Farabi KazNU was also shown and recommended to the Academic Council for approval.

"Today RUMS UMO supervises nine directions on personnel training and a section has been created for each of them", - noted Akmaral Syrgakbaeva. The number of educational programs is -1471.

Today RUMS closely cooperates with stakeholders, such as: National Testing Center, MNVO, line ministries, National Center for Higher Education Development, NPP "Atameken", Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Expertise of Education Content, business community, employers' association, deputy corps, etc. 

In turn, Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebav emphasized the need to strengthen the requirements for young people who want to study at the university. The admission committee should establish communication, talk to the winners of various Olympiads and competitions, as well as attract educated young people by holding online meetings with the regions. The issue of increasing the number of master's and doctoral students was also raised.
