The School of Hotel and Tourism Management of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is one of the leading educational institutions in the world, specializing in the hospitality and tourism industry. It occupies high positions in world rankings for the specialization of hospitality and tourism. In particular, it holds 1st place in the world ranking for the specialty “Hospitality and Tourism Management” in the Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for the last 7 years, in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 for the last 3 years.

The educational institution offers a wide range of bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, specially designed to prepare students in the field of hospitality. Aliya Sagyndykovna, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management and Professor Kaye Chon, Dean of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management discussed many issues. The discussion was intense and productive, which confirmed its importance for both sides.

As a result of this meeting, a preliminary agreement was signed on the allocation of a significant number of educational grants for our master's and doctoral students for exchange studies at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In particular, 3 grants were provided for master's studies and 2 grants for doctoral studies in the specialty "Restaurant and Hospitality Business", as well as 1 grant for postdoctoral studies.

This agreement opens up new opportunities for those wishing to continue their education in the field of hospitality and restaurant business at the international level. Training planning is provided starting from the 2024 academic year. The parties also agreed to begin the selection of candidates who will meet the requirements and conditions of this bilateral agreement.

Such initiatives significantly contribute to strengthening academic and cultural ties between educational institutions of different countries, and also support the development of qualified personnel in the field of hospitality and restaurant business.

This meeting implements the SDGs4 - quality education; SDG 8 - decent work and economic growth; SDG 17 - partnerships for sustainable development.
