Discussed the problems of the history of language and writing

The I International Scientific and Methodological Conference "Amanzholov Readings - 2024" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Turkicologist, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Altay Amanzholov started in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The event is held to draw attention to the issues of preservation and study of manuscripts and old printed books, as well as to discuss current problems of development of Turkological science. Special attention is paid to the problems of historiography of science, the study of the heritage of scientists and, first of all, the works of Professor Altay Sarsenovich Amanzholov of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev addressed the participants of the conference with a welcoming speech. He noted that in the year of celebration of the 90th anniversary of KazNU honors outstanding scientists of the university. Very symbolic and significant is in this connection the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Turkicologist of world renown, a man of high culture - Professor Altai Sarsenovich Amanzholov.

"Altay Amanzholov is a true scientist, devoted to his work and scientific credo," emphasized the head of the university. - Amanzholov's research work covers a wide range of problems of language and writing history. He is one of the few specialists in the field of historical grammar of Turkic languages, history of ancient Turkic writing".

The program of the conference announced about 100 participants from Azerbaijan, France, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Turkey, who during two days will work online and offline in the following areas: "The role and significance of the works of Professor A.S.Amanzholov in the research and educational paradigm", "University studies and scientific heritage of scientists, teachers", "Library science: books in traditional and digital format", "History of writing: from Turkic runes to modern communication", "Turkic-Slavic interaction of languages and cultures".

As a result of the event will be: developed strategies to strengthen the Turkic linguistic heritage, published a collection of speeches and reports of the conference participants, in order to disseminate new knowledge and research in relevant areas, which will be available on the website of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, etc.
