Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China visited KazNU

Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Liu Guozhong paid a working visit to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

As part of the visit of a prominent Chinese figure, the opening ceremony of the laboratory "5G/5.5G Communication Technologies" took place. The new center is designed to provide access to new technologies in the field of telecommunications in Kazakhstan.

Zhang Xiao, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Kazakhstan, Zhanseit Tuimebaev, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU, Guo Wei, Deputy Head of the Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Li Hui, Special Representative of the Government of the People's Republic of China on Eurasian Affairs, Zhang Xingwang, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China, Li Fei, Deputy Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, scientists and faculty of the university, students took part in the opening of the laboratory.

The new scientific laboratory will make it possible to train specialists in telecommunication communication systems, master new technologies, improve Internet speed, and implement the 6G network. In the future, the center will become a platform where it will be possible not only to observe research work, but also to participate in the production of high-tech communication devices, their assembly and commissioning.

"I believe that the opening of this laboratory on the basis of KazNU is a landmark event for both parties. Nowadays the sphere of communications is dynamically developing all over the world. It is impossible to refrain from these new changes. Therefore, it is important that there are many such centers to train specialists in this field, as well as the development of the Internet," said Liu Guojun.

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev informed the members of the delegation about the activities of the branch of the Northwest Polytechnic University of China, which was opened last year in KazNU.

"5G/5.5G Communication Technologies" laboratory is located in the first branch of China in Kazakhstan. PRC is one of the reliable partners for our country. In this context, KazNU closely cooperates with Chinese universities in the field of science and higher education. I believe that the scientific laboratory opened today will contribute to further development and increase cooperation for the universities of the two countries," - said the rector.

Huawei sponsored the laboratory opened jointly by Al-Farabi KazNU and Northwest Polytechnic University of the People's Republic of China. This scientific center is located on the basis of a branch of NWPU.

During his working visit to KazNU, Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Liu Guojun also familiarized himself with the activities of the Kazakh-Chinese joint laboratory "Remote Sensing and Application Technology" and the Research Center of Medicinal Plants. The guest of honor also visited the branch of the Northwest Polytechnic University of China on the basis of KazNU, where he talked with scientists.
