The problems of Afghanistan were discussed at the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU

On June 10, 2024, a roundtable discussion dedicated to the issues of Afghanistan was held at the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU). 

The event was organized by the Research Center for Regional Studies in collaboration with the International Center for Science Development at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The roundtable, titled "Afghanistan and Central Asian Countries in New Geopolitical and Geo-economic Realities," brought together scholars and practitioners from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

It is important to note that Afghanistan and the Central Asian countries remain the focus of the international community due to the ongoing situation in Afghanistan and its impact on Central Asia, which are significant issues for regional and global politics, requiring constant monitoring and international cooperation.

The roundtable was attended by representatives of the expert and academic communities.

Expert discussions and debates were held as part of the conference.

The moderator of the first session was the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Leila FedorovnaDelovarova.

Sherali Rizoen, independent researcher, PhD in Political Science, Dushanbe, Tajikistan

Auelbaev Bulat, Chief Expert of the Asian Studies Department at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. "Afghanistan: Problems of the Water-Energy Sector"

Zhuldyz Irtyshevna Bayzakova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Relations, Al-FarabiKazakh National University, Almaty, Kazakhstan. "The Impact of Northern Afghanistan’s Problems on the Security Situation in Central Asia"

Summarizing the roundtable, Dean Leila Delovarova noted the necessity of developing expert discussions on the security issues of Central Asia and Afghanistan, particularly within universities, involving young researchers.
