Students visited the Eurasian Food Corporation plant

A new educational program "6B07204 - Food Chemistry and Technology" was introduced at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2021 academic year. The educational program is designed taking into account modern trends in the development of the food industry in Kazakhstan and its graduates will be in demand in the labor market. 

According to the OP students study the composition of food products, chemistry of food ingredients, their interaction, chemical and enzymatic changes in the production of food products, technological processes, methods of storage and packaging of food products, analysis of food products, industrial economics and ecology. Graduates of OP "Food Chemistry and Technology" will be prepared to work as chemists-technologists, chemists-engineers at the enterprises of food industry of RK. Therefore, it is very important for students to understand the work of large enterprises of the food industry. Students undergo practical training at local plants and factories, such as the production company Raimbek Bottlers, confectionery enterprise JSC "LOTTE Rakhat" and others. In addition, familiarization tours are held at food enterprises.
Holding Eurasian Foods Corporation is one of the leading and significant enterprises of food industry of Kazakhstan and Central Asia countries, the recognized leader of the republic among producers of oil and fat products meeting the highest world standards, with the production volume of more than 150 000 tons per year. Here is produced vegetable oil "Masterpiece", various varieties of butter, mayonnaise, ketchup, sauces. The students listened with interest to the lecture on sunflower oil production by the head of the refining shop Nesipkhanova N., got acquainted with the oil refining shop, the laboratory of physical and chemical analysis, the shop of product packaging and the work of the innovation laboratory for the development of new products.
Students learned in practice what skills and competencies they should have to work at such production facilities, what requirements employers will have for them after graduation. Such excursions are useful for understanding the scale of production, help to see the technology, apparatus and equipment in practice, ask questions to the production staff to clarify some theoretical and practical issues.
