The Kazakh-American center for the study of cytomatrix has been opened at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The Kazakh-American Center for the Study of Cytomatrix on the basis of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was created on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of the University No. 10 dated 10/05/2024 on the basis of the order of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of the University No. 279 dated 06/06/2024.

Shaiken Tattym, a graduate of the Department of Cytology (now the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources) of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Professor of the University of Houston, Doctor of Biological Sciences Shaiken Tattym, during a working trip to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, met with the Vice-Rector for Operations of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University E.E. Duisenov, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the University A.G. Kazmagambetov, Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor M.S. Kurmanbaeva. During the meeting, a memorandum on the creation of the center was signed. This agreement is aimed at strengthening the partnership in the field of research into the properties and characteristics of cytomatrices. The new center will contribute to the development of cell biology and the development of innovative methods of anti-cancer therapy in Kazakhstan. The importance of the memorandum adopted at the meeting was emphasized, Al-Farabi KazNU is always open to scientific cooperation.
