Economists who graduated from KazNU 35 years ago gathered in KazNU

In the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi at the faculty of the Higher School of Economics and Business gathered today's well-known personalities in the field of economics, who graduated from the higher educational institution 35 years ago.

The graduates of the leading university visited the campus and familiarized themselves with the latest achievements of the university. They also visited the newly opened scientific laboratories.

The 1989 graduates were met by the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev, who thanked them for their visit to the institution of higher education.

First, the honored guests visited the classrooms and lecture halls of the Faculty of Economics and Business, where they studied. Zhanseit Tuimebaev demonstrated the results of repair works carried out at the faculty. Furniture, doors and windows were replaced. The foyer and corridors were also expanded, and lighting fixtures were installed.

The alumni talked to their professors and recalled their student years.

"We are glad that after 35 years we gathered in the walls of our native university. I am very pleased to see and communicate with my classmates today.  A lot of things have changed in KazNU. Today we learned and saw everything with our own eyes. We are very happy that the diamond mater, where we studied, continues to flourish and rises to a new milestone of its development", - said Nurlan Sauranbayev, KazNU alumnus, Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy".

Then the graduates visited the recently opened Kazakh-Chinese joint laboratory "Remote Sensing Technology".

This, in turn, will create an international high-tech platform in resource research for Kazakhstan, China and Central Asia.

Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev familiarized the guests with the material and technical base and explained the main directions of the laboratory. Also, specially arrived alumni visited the Farabi Library and coffee houses of the campus, where they familiarized themselves with the conditions created for young people studying.
