THE COURSE "FINANCIAL LITERACY" FOR UNIVERSITY TEACHERS WAS HELD AT ABAI UNIVERSITY
At the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, the course "Financial Literacy" was launched as part of the "Society without Loans" project by the "AMANAT" party. This initiative is being implemented in accordance with the "Roadmap" aimed at expanding educational initiatives.
The course was officially opened with a welcoming address by Dr. Banu MukataevnaNarbekova, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Associate Professor, who serves as the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Kazakh National Pedagogical University. She wished success to the participants of the three-day seminar, which was attended by over 50 members of the academic staff from 36 universities in Almaty and Zhetysu regions.
From July 15 to 17 of this year, a seminar was held in Astana, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan in collaboration with the "AMANAT" party. The seminar featured speakers who are certified trainer-instructors leading this course, including:
1. Karimova Madina, PhD, Associate Professor at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai;
2. Kerimbek Galymzhan, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance and Accounting at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University;
3. Syzdykbaeva Nurgul, PhD, Associate Professor at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov.
The "Financial Literacy" course covers a range of topics, including the concepts, goals, and objectives of financial literacy; money, payments, and transactions; personal finance, encompassing income, expenses, and budgeting; taxes and taxation of individuals; banking services for the population; insurance; the basics of the financial market and investing; entrepreneurship and startups; and personal bankruptcy. Practical sessions on personal financial security and other relevant topics are also conducted. Special emphasis is placed on the methodology of teaching this discipline.
The Chairman of the Medeu District branch of the "AMANAT" party in Almaty, Azat Alimkhanovich Azimov, presented certificates to all participants upon completion of the course.
It is also noteworthy that the "Financial Literacy" course has been launched across all regions of Kazakhstan. Furthermore, teachers from schools and secondary specialized educational institutions (colleges) in each region are also undergoing special courses and receiving certificates. Those who successfully complete this training seminar will be responsible for educating students in colleges and schools. As part of this project, it is planned to introduce financial literacy as a dedicated discipline in the new academic year.
