"Teacher of the Nation": Ahmet Baitursynov
Within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals №. 4. Quality education
On September 5, 2024, on the birthday of the outstanding Kazakh enlightener Ahmet Baitursynov, first-year students of the "Library Science and Digital Archives" specialty of the Faculty of History of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a commemorative event "Ұлт ұстазы" (Teacher of the Nation).
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere in classroom 405. The students prepared a rich program dedicated to the life and work of Ahmet Baitursynov. During the event, reports were presented on his contribution to the development of the Kazakh language, literature, and culture, excerpts from his works were shown, and students also dedicated their own works to him.
Particular attention was paid to the role of Baitursynov as "Ұлт ұстазы" - the teacher of the nation. The students emphasized his tireless efforts to educate the Kazakh people, his struggle to preserve and develop national identity.
During the event, the floor was given to the Dean of the Faculty of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Dosbol Suleimenovich Baigunakov, and the Director of the Republican Research Center "Study of World History", Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences and the Academy of Humanities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorary Professor of the University of Göttingen (Germany) Kalkaman Tursunovich Zhumagulov. The professors spoke about the relevance of Baitursynov's ideas in modern Kazakhstan. It was noted that his legacy continues to inspire new generations to serve their Motherland and their people.
The organizers of the event expressed the hope that such meetings will contribute to the preservation of the memory of the great sons of the Kazakh land and the strengthening of national identity.
