SDG 8. Kazakh National University trains specialists for nuclear power plants
The Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Nurzada Beisen, spoke about personnel training at the Kazatomexpo International Nuclear Energy Exhibition, which took place on August 27.
Nurzada Beisen highlighted that the faculty has been training physics technicians for over 90 years. She also mentioned that a new educational program in nuclear engineering has been launched this year as part of the Sustainable Development Goal "Decent Work and Economic Growth" (SDG 8).
"We offer dual degree programs. Our students study at universities in Russia, Japan, Korea, and China, with 10-15 students participating in these programs annually. Additionally, our students intern at CERN, the largest nuclear laboratory in Europe, located in Switzerland. In recent years, significant attention has been given to young scientists. This is a crucial step in enhancing the academic level of the country," summarized the Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology.
