Problems and Perspectives of Economic Education

On September 13, 2024, the Department of Economics at the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi KazNU held a round table on the topic "Economic Education and the Origins of Science: Past, Present, Past, Present, Future" (implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDG 4 - Quality Education). This round table was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi KazNU and the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics, with participation from faculty members, students, and master's degree students of the HSEB.

The significance of this round table was heightened by the participation of a group of graduates from the Faculty of Philosophy and Economics from 1974, who shared their memories of their university years and their professors. A particularly engaging presentation was made by honored alumnus Dr. Urak Aliyev (Vice President of the "Turan" Educational Corporation) on the topic "The Modern University as a Research Program."

During the round table, discussions centered on the role of economic knowledge in preparing personnel for the digital economy, issues related to economic education, the demands of the modern labor market, and several other topics. Notable presentations were given by candidates of economic sciences, Associate Professor L.A. Bimendieva, Dr. M.S. Tulegenova, and candidates of economic sciences, Associate Professors A.M. Djulaeva and G.R. Dauliyeva.
