The Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty Opens the New Theatre Season
On October 1st, the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics became the first among university groups to visit the theater this new season. Senior adviser, group advisers, and first-year students participated in this exciting cultural event. They demonstrated unity and collaboration by attending the premiere of the play "Unknown Childhood" by Akberen Yelgezek, which is being performed in the best theaters across Kazakhstan.
Senior advisers noted that such cultural activities contribute to the development of artistic taste, broadening horizons, and building team spirit among students. They emphasized that attending theatrical performances not only enriches the educational process but also fosters an active civic position among young people.
This event was held as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 "Quality Education" and SDG 11 "Sustainable Cities and Communities." The theater visit contributes to achieving SDG 4, as quality education encompasses not only academic development but also cultural enrichment. Attending theatrical performances enhances students' aesthetic perception, creative thinking, and communication skills, all of which are important for the formation of a well-rounded individual.
Moreover, this event is linked to SDG 11, which aims to create sustainable cities and communities. The theater is an essential element of a city's cultural life and contributes to the preservation and development of cultural traditions. Participation in such events strengthens students' connection with the local community, promotes the development of cultural heritage, and encourages active youth involvement in the city's cultural life.
Thus, cultural activities, such as visiting the theater, become an integral part of the implementation of the SDGs, reinforcing the connection between education, art, and the sustainable development of society as a whole.
We hope that this visit will inspire students to further achievements in both studies and creativity, becoming the start of new and exciting events that will strengthen the cultural traditions of our university. The faculty will continue to organize cultural outings, allowing students not only to gain knowledge but also to develop their personalities through art.
