Open guest lecture by Dr Barry Bruce, Professor Emeritus at the University of Tennessee
On October 8, an open guest lecture by Dr. Barry Bruce, the Charles Postelle Distinguished Professor, Associate Head, and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee, was held in room 531. The lecture focused on current issues in applied photosynthesis, particularly its potential for biofuel production.
Dr. Bruce provided a detailed overview of the latest advancements in photosynthetic technologies, emphasizing the importance of using photosynthesis to create environmentally friendly energy sources. Special attention was given to bioengineering approaches aimed at improving photosynthetic processes to increase biofuel yields. He also shared insights from international projects in this field.
Fourth-year students majoring in Bioengineering actively participated in the discussions, asking questions about the application of bioengineering to optimize photosynthesis and the potential industrial applications of the technologies developed from this research.
