On October 7, 2024, students of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism visited the Atakent Park Hotel as part of promoting the idea of high-quality education and professional training for young people in line with the goals of sustainable development. The hotel staff shared their experience in implementing green technologies and talked about the importance of sustainable development in the hotel business. Particular attention was paid to improving the skills of staff and adapting to the requirements of environmental responsibility, which helps to increase the competitiveness of the hotel and attract environmentally aware tourists. Students learned about specific measures to reduce the carbon footprint, such as energy-saving systems and the use of renewable energy. The excursion allowed future professionals to understand the importance of environmentally sustainable practices for the long-term development of the tourism industry and their role in promoting responsible tourism.
