
On October 12, 2024, 1st year students of the Department of "Foreign Philology and Translation" of the Philological Faculty of Farabi Kazakh National University held a thematic event entitled "My Homeland is Kazakhstan" within the framework of SDG 4 "Quality Education" and SDG 12 "Responsible consumption and production". The purpose of the meeting was to deepen knowledge about the cultural heritage, traditions and history of Kazakhstan, as well as to develop public speaking skills and intercultural communication.
Special attention was paid at the event to important sustainable development goals, such as quality education and responsible consumption and production. The students discussed the importance of quality education for the development of the country, emphasizing the importance of multilingualism and the possibility of integrating world experience into the educational system of Kazakhstan. It was also touched upon how responsible consumption and production affect the environment and the sustainable future of Kazakhstan, which caused an active discussion among the participants.
During the event, students presented reports and presentations on various aspects of the history and culture of Kazakhstan. Special attention was paid to multilingualism and the national diversity of the country, which became the topic of discussion. Such meetings help not only to strengthen students' sense of patriotism, but also to improve their language and translation skills, which is an integral part of their professional training.
