On October 15, 2024, a meeting of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies discussed the doctoral dissertation of doctoral student Miras Abdrakhimov on the topic "Kazakh officials of the Semirechensk region in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries: formation and structure." The supervisor of the work is Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Gulmira Salimzhanovna Sultangalieva. Members of the dissertation council and reviewers read the work and gave their suggestions.

Research Topic

The dissertation examines in detail the process of formation of the Kazakh administration in the Semirechensk region, the social origin of officials, their level of education, career paths, positions held and powers, as well as relations with the Russian administration. The author, using archival documents, legislative acts, statistical data and other sources, provides specific information about the number, national composition and social status of Kazakh officials.

 

Expected Results

It is expected that the results of the study will contribute to the improvement of textbooks and scientific papers on the history of Kazakhstan, further study of the history of the Semirechensk region, as well as the formation of historical consciousness.
